Cannot Renew Avast! Free registration

So, my registration has expired, and I have to renew it. However, every way I've tried to do so thus far has not worked. If I click the "Renew" button on the "Status" tab of Avast, the main part of the avast window just turns white and nothing happens. If I go into settings, click "Registration," and then click register now a little window pops up that says "Loading," but then nothing happens. I've also tried doing it by filling out a registration form and entering that in the "Insert License Key" window, but I am told that it's not a valid key, even though I just obtained it through email. What is going on here?

Try an avast! repair...

Control Panel>Program and Features>Uninstall a Program>Avast>Change>Repair and then reboot. (IMPORTANT)

... The program version should be 9.0.2011.

Do you have the VPS versions censored or something? No need to...

I think this is a corrupt install so...

1. Download Avastclear, Rejzors uninstall tool and the appropriate Avast program edition

Note: You need to be ONLINE during this install

2. Uninstall Avast by control panel  [If you don't have Avast in control Panel go to #4]
3. Uninstall in safe mode using Avastclear.
4. Run Rejzors Uninstall Utility in Normal Mode (removes traces avastclear doesn't) - reboot.
Check : Once uninstalled check in device manager>view>show hidden devices if there is anything related to avast with a yellow triangle.. if so, uninstall it and reboot.
5. Install the version you downloaded.
6. Reboot.

When I tried to uninstall it in the control panel, it gave me an error.

Go to stage 3 then. Make sure you do both 3 and 4.

Yes... BUT in some cases the offline installer doesn't work, whereas the online one does. It has something to do with the wrong SFX in some installers.
