I have the same problem with Avast Premier. I have it on 2 computers and 1 laptop. Most of the time now when I turn on the computers it works fine most of the day. Then it stops sending/receiving. I disable avast and I can send/receive. Then turn it back on. I have a ticket going with support, but haven't heard back for awhile. My wife really gets frustrated when it happens on her computer. Just can't find what/where the problem is. Even had Comcast looking into it and my settings with them are correct.
