Avast vs. Windows Defender
« on: September 07, 2013, 10:35:42 PM »
So, I recently bought Avast! Internet Security and everything was fine and dandy, but I've been experiencing an issue that also popped up on an old computer of mine a few years ago. This icon keeps popping up telling me that avast is not turned on and that I need to turn it on, or another antivirus, or windows defender. Is this just a glitch or what? I keep pressing the button to turn on avast, and every time I look at avast it looks like it is running well. I don't know what to do, and I don't want my new computer to get a virus!

Have you checked in your Add/Remove programs that Avast is actually installed ; I had an experiece like ths some while ago on my XP machine to discover that, somehow, my Avast program had been uninstalled !!
