Options for Avast 2014.9.0.2013

I came across with this option under Avast 2014 Free Edition.

Under details, I can see these two following:

1) I only connect to the internet using dial-up connection.
2) My computer is permanently connected to the internet.

I can't recall seeing this option in the previous version of Avast 2014. I may be wrong. Anyways, my internet connection is broadband (which stays connected to the internet at all times). Is it necessary to tick the second option, or will i leave it unticked?

That's been there since at least v7 (could be from v5, I forgot).

It's not necessary to tick the option but if you are permanently connected, why not?

Oh thanks for your reply! Though sometimes my connection get disconnected for random reasons lol.
