High priority for ashServ on WinXP
« on: June 24, 2005, 01:26:41 PM »
Hi floks,

first, congrats for that pretty good piece of work ; really top quality soft.

I do have a problem though. when ashServ does its job while incoming mails are being scan, it loads CPU to its max and halts all other processes. I've tried to set its priority to low (set to high currently) but windows forbids me to doing so and I don't know how to go around this.

Hence my two questions :
1) does anyone get similar problem with ashServ that eats all CPU capacity while scanning
2) does anyone have an idea to solve this

For info, I'm using avast home 4.6 for winXP (SP2 not fully installed), with 1.5GHz centrino & 512Mo of ram.

Thanks for your help

Hi there,

I meant that I did not fully upgrade with SP2 (only partial security update). Would there be a link with my above-mentioned problem ?

Tx

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
