If the newest Opera had real bookmarks instead of a bunch of silly looking squares ... hmmm, that's off topic here.
If the newest Opera had the old options to make it secure, I might consider it even though it's a chrome knockoff which I don't like. But it doesn't. There is no QuickPrefs>Edit site prefs. So I have no fast and easy way to disable everything globally and allow selected items (images, scripts, frames, cookies...) on a site-by-site basis.
So between Avast and Opera12, Kerio/Sunbelt/Outpost I feel safer.
Just waiting for Opera to bring back the real security features. Unlikely though, it's too inconvenient for the advertisers.
I also use current SeaMonkey with NoScript and AdBlock. NoScript is amazing - even more detailed than my Opera.
