every app in my phone is infected?
« on: January 09, 2014, 11:04:40 AM »
So today when I was using an app, (that I have used many times before without poblem), and avast alerted me about a trojan. The app was deleted, but after that avast tells me EVERY single app on my phone is infected with trojans and possibly other problems. I can't use any apps without avast stopping them and some apps like google play store can't be deleted. Is there something wrong with avast or need I reset my phone? If I need to reset it, can I move some photos to my computer without risk since it's the apps that are the problem?

Please help me!

Hi,

unfortunatelly wrong virus definitions have been released for a brief amount of time. We are working on a fix and once it is released, I'll let you know (so you can manually check for updates and don't have to wait for the automatic process to kick in).

I got the very same problem.
Avast Mobile crashed during the scanning process, but meanwhile it detected about 32 of my apps (including Google Play Store) as Trojans.

I'm thinking about uninstalling/reinstalling the whole avast app, because it's currently almost impossible to use my phone properly.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

reinstalling will solve the issue for sure, but if you don't want to lose all your settings, you can turn off App Shield - Scan on execution to make your device usable until we fix it.

Thanks for the quick reply!
In this case I'm glad it's avast that's the problem. When will it be safe to re-install avast?

Hi,

it should be fixed now :) You can reinstall without and issue.

Sognatore, I suggest you run a manual check for updates to receive the new definitions immediatelly :) The fixed version should be 140109-01.

I can't reinstall avast! after uninstalling it when my Huawei Ascend G300 went crazy last night saying every app was malware. I didn't see your advice to turn off App Shield until too late  :(

When I try to reinstall avast! it says it can't because of error 923. Help!

Hi,

I think that is a Google Play issue. It seems that it's a pretty common error, there is some guide how to fix it for example here http://mhotspot.com/blog/fix-for-google-play-923-error-on-downloading-or-updating-apps/
