Registry scan
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:51:30 PM »
Does avast scan the registry like MBAM does? When I did a quick scan with avast it found nothing. But when I did a quick scan with MBAM it found a few pup registry items that had to be deleted.

It doesn't specifically scan the registry as such, but if a detection is made it checks the registry for entries relating to that file detection I believe.

Furthermore, Avast doesn't scan for PUPs per default and even enabled and with the boot time scan, Malwarebytes is still stronger in this matter.
On a side note, the registry entries detected might've been only harmless remnants of Adware/PUPs you have installed.
