Avast Online Security !
« on: February 24, 2014, 10:36:47 PM »
I have been an Avast user for donkey years. Currently I am still using Avast version 8.0.1497 for reasons of my own.
Mozilla Firefox latest version : AOS 8.0.1.497
IE 8 : AOS 8.0.1.497
Now look at this :
Google chrome latest version : AOS 9.0.2013.75

How come ? It just does not make any sense. How is that possible ?
For the record everything is running nice and smooth.
Don't you think that this is a tad weird ?

Disable the AOS in your browser(s).

avast 8.0 did not have the AOS. If you are still using v8.0 you might want to update to v2014.

Download and save the avast uninstaller.
Download and save your choice..
Free
Pro
Avast Internet Security
Premier

Run uninstaller from above. You will be directed to reboot into safe mode click "yes".
Reboot.
Install choice from above. Use the "custom install" and untick "browser protection".
Reboot and either register or insert license.

Para-noid : I do thank you for your trouble and please rest assured that I will take your advice in the foreseeable future.
For the time being I have to have my pc in perfect working order since I am in the middle of something so I cannot really afford any hiccups. I will be migrating to win 7 ultimate in august which I purchased a couple of years ago and have nothing against it really. Then I will upgrade to Avast latest edition.
I was just a bit puzzled because since I am using avast 8 how is it possible to have AOS 9 on my google chrome !
Cheers
