Windows 8.1 - cannot update definitions

Okay, I apparently have the latest update but avast! says it cannot  cannot download the latest update. I got a scary popup saying avast! could not update.



Currently Steam is installing Assassin's Creed IV, but when that is done, I will repair the install. What else I am supposed to do?

(This is a brand new computer, I just installed avast! a couple hours ago)

There appears to be a server error at the moment, I cannot update either

I have the latest, so I am not sure why it is trying to update at all though...

It auto updates every four hours    The last streaming update was at 1922 (7 minutes ago) so you are covered

Streaming updates ..ok...Vps error in Server also.....
