HowTo : Make file agent ignore a program
« on: March 02, 2014, 01:02:52 AM »
Hi all,

I've got a Access DB with some VBA programming including reading files. This process might hang for lot of secondes ( 30) for small files 150Ko.
When it hang the whole system hang.
when I desactivate the avast antivirus (free edition) no hang arise.
Is there any way to tell to the file agent to ignore actions made by access.exe ? Instead of removing file agent most of the time ?

If I do not find a solution I'll havt to change the anti-virus software....

Thanks in advance for your answer.

I usually encounter this when doing C files for certain projects. You can make avast ignore a folder or file.

Open avast. Go to settings>active protection>file system shield gear.

Go to the exclusions tab.

Add the file or folder you want to exclude and select when kind of exclusions you want.

Click add. Then click OK on both the file system shield setting window and active protection window.

Or you may make global exclusions...

GUI>Settings>Antivirus>scroll down to and make your exclusions.  :)
