I think one a week is overboard but, to each their own. :)

We're talking about the avast popup mentioning regular scans bob...I think any longer than once a week wouldn't be regarded as regular, we all know you do a boot scan at install and never scan again :)

A new boot scan at every major update of avast!. After that, avast! is smart enough to constantly scan things on it's own. :)

Personally I believe a boot scan should only be done when avast recommends it after a detection... but again we are discussing the avast popup that suggests running regular scans " if avast is smart enough then why do they suggest running regular scans ? " this difference of opinion should be brought to avasts attention to see what they say - you say don't run it yet avast say you should.

Its another general info/promo/ad, being tacked on the the auto update again. The problem being that avast isn't checking if you even do a regular Quick scan - even though I have a Quick scan scheduled weekly, avast is still displaying these info popups.

I only see these on my win7 netbook - The only way get rid of them is to disable the Auto Update Notification popup, which I have disabled on my XP desktop, no more popups of any kind piggybacked on to update notifications.
