Web Shield MIME exceptions are not remembered. I removed all of them, closed On-Access panel,re-opened it and went to MIME exceptions. They were there again.
I just can't remove them from the list, because they always get back.
This didn't happen in official version.

Avast needs an improvement.
1- to make with this when avast to bring modern, will not be necessary to restart the computer.

The same problem. I've even got a lot of dublicates here. Tried to remove, but they are coming back again and after while I have 3 and more copies of each in the list, but I don't need any of these!  >:(

Ok,i have reproduced the exclusions list issue.
It replicates all entries each time you open exclusions list. This applies to both,Web Shield and Standard Shield exclusions.
Thats why i had all default values duplicated 4 times!
If i'd open that panel 5 times,i'd have 5 duplicated entries.
It's kinda serious bug.

Be patient, it will be announced here in the forums first. We know no more than you, based on the information posted on the forums, yesterday that was estimated was 10 days. However, this will be subject to successful beta testing and resolving any issues/problem found, like those discussed here.

Update on the issue I reported earlier with using ashQuick.exe as a scheduled task (using WinXP SP2).

Command line in the scheduled task is:

"C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe" C: D: E: F:

the "Start in:" folder set to:

"C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4"

With these settings the scan has always previously scanned the complete C: drive.

With the new beta release and these settings in the scheduled task the only files scanned on the C: drive are those of the "Start in:' folder and its subsidiary folders.  No other folders are scanned on C:.  The other drives are scanned normally starting at the root directory.

When I modified the scheduled task and made the "Start in:" folder the root of the C: drive and ran the scheduled task again then the normal full scan of the C: drive was done.

In the beta release ashQuick is not really complying with the command line parameters.

Since it is the default for Windows to set the "Start in:" folder to be that of the program being scheduled this will mean anyone using the method described in this forum to use ashQuick.exe as a means of scheduling a scan in the Home edition could find their C: drive largely unscanned.

How about graying out the sensitivity slider control in providers that don't use it, like network shield and web shield?

Thanks RejZor it is reproducible on my PC too. Definitely a bug.

On the other hand - there are default values for e.g. MIME exclusion list and these values are inserted into the list when the list is empty. This is not a BUG, it's designed to be so. It has always been so (as far as I know). But I must admit that probably some kind of a RESET button might be a better solution.

I definitely agree for RESET button instead. Or some kind of Power Mode where Web Shield would check all programs and all files regardless of their type.
Also please hardcode some exclusions like those for unpacked avast! temp files.

Web Shield just locked me out all the sudden. Everything gave me Connection refused until i stopped and restarted Web Shield. After that it worked again.
I'm not sure what caused this, but it looks like Web Shield problem.
Can you check if everything is ok with Web Shield? Thx
