Lappy wont boot to normal
« on: March 08, 2014, 11:22:40 AM »
Hi, please can anyone help. I've had some issues with 'no more valid endpoints' and after doing some searching I decided to uninstall and re-install avast.
That's where my real problem began. the instructions told me to use the avast uninstaller from the avast website but to do it in 'safe mode'. Now the lappy won't boot to normal from safe and it's driving me insane. I am just about completely computer illiterate so any help would be welcome. Please though remember you are talking to the stoopid ie ME so any instructions really need to be step by step. Thanks for helping if you can.

After you boot into safe mode run the avast uninstaller.
Then do a clean install.

It wouldn't let me install anything. and no matter what i tried it would only boot to safe. Have done a restore now. A bit dissappoinetd that avast seems to be the root cause of all this hassle but hey-ho move on, whats done is done.
Thanks to everyone who replied.

Sounds like a stuck registry key that should have been a run once entry but somehow was not removed after it ran
