How do I know if my firewall is working?
« on: March 08, 2014, 06:54:09 AM »
As the subject header states, so how do I know if my avast firewall is working?

I'm a previous owner of Norton 360, when Norton firewall is active, it disables the Windows Firewall. So does avast do the same?

Look to see what is happening in the firewall logs.

Check in Control Panel > Windows Firewall to see if firewall is on or off.

The windows firewall works alongside of avasts firewall but you can disable it if you wish to save some resources.

If running avast! firewall v9, turn off Windows Firewall.
