How can one create a desktop short cut for GMail?

(I used Chrome to accomplish this since it's my default browser.)
Go to:

Once your gmail account opens, do the following:

Accept the following or, unselect the one you don't want:

This is what you'll see on your desktop:



Your wallpaper will be different.

You can also use Google Mail Checker which will put a Gmail icon in the top righthand corner of Chrome.

bob3160, issue got resolved, had the history checked in Advanced sync options, what do you generally recommend to check since I have Android devices plus G Chrome as default browser on all my machines?

Btw  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=42215   update wont install, during install displays not for this computer? 

The other got installed but in windows updates doesn't show?

What version of IE do you have installed

That explains why you didn't need an update for IE9.
