Unresponsive Script Error on Firefox
« on: March 29, 2014, 09:22:59 PM »
My Firefox freezes on Google product pages like Google News & getting unresponsive script error.

After a small bit of found that Avast online security is causing the problem. Simply disabling it has fixed the problem & Firefox is became very fast now.

When I have searched for this issue, There are lot of user complaints even in avast forum regarding this issue from the last one year. But, It is not yet fixed.

Pls fix the issue

Yet another negative for AOS, which is an unmitigated disaster.

I had the same problem with the script error on Firefox, also with IE. I had just installed the latest version of Avast which was causing the problem (2014.9.0.2014).  I was also having problems running uTorrent. I uninstalled Avast completely, then downloaded and installed an older version (2014.9.0.2006) which solved the problems.  You can download older versions of Avast from www.oldapps.com. I know it's a free product and all, but Avast needs to address this problem pronto, this is serious.

Downgrade is the only option?
But, downgeade will open open all your loopholes & bugs fixed in the latest version...!!

I have just disabled the plugin and the problem is solved temporarily. Avast file system shield will still protect me.

Just Updated to v2014.9.0.2016 from v2014.9.0.2014
Seems it's working fine now.
