How do I shut down Avast! temporarily in order to import an update to Adobe Reader?

You shouldn't have to disable shields to perform your task but if you have too then right click the avast ball in taskbar and disable shields.

Don't feel bad.  There are times my wife & myself have to disable avast premier so outlook 2007 can send/receive mail.  We didn't have any problems till this latest version.  When we first turn on our computers, they send/receive fine.  Then out of the blue during the day it starts getting errors.  I've had avast support working on this for months now.  Still no solution.  I've had Comcast look at the settings in outlook and they're set right.  Some where in avast it messes with outlook and I can't find where.
