Problem with internet while scanning

Hi,
I've noticed the following problem : when I start a scan using Avast! Free AV for Mac on my 2012 Macbook Air running OS X 10.9.3, WiFi disconnects. To be more precise, when the scan starts the computer is still connected but internet does not work. Later, it fully disconnects and cannot reconnect. However, as soon as I click the stop button, WiFi reconnects and the computer works again as expected. I've been able to recreate the problem many times. I could also recreate the problem in another user account. All this happens when I start a scan. This happens with both v8 qnd v9. Uninstalling (using unistall.app in the DMG) then reinstalling didn't help either.

I have this same problem with my mid-2012 Macbook Pro (OS X 10.8.5) computer. The problem started late last week, I think when Avast! was updated to 9.0 version. If I uninstall avast!, my laptop/internet works just fine. When I re-install avast!, the problem continues. I would be interested to know if you find a "fix."  Thanks.
