BUG in Web-shield 2014.9.0.2016
« on: March 31, 2014, 09:11:50 PM »
Hello,

Some users reported that they have problems with the internet (can't watch video on youtube, ssl error on mail server mail.ru, loosing internet connection after some time)
I asked one of them to generate a support package, you can download it here.

I looked into the logs and it seems to be a sreamfilter bug. Switching to "transparent" proxy mode didn't solve the problem, if user switching to "transparent" proxy mode he hasn't got internet connection at all, also we tried to do a clean install, but with no luck...

How to fix this bug? OS windows 8 and windows 7 x64

This is more likely to be the avast online security (AOS) add-on. Given that this is https, the web shield shouldn't be monitoring these connections.

Try disabling the AOS add-on in their browser, if it works then there is more than likely a setting in the AOS, possibly the social networking one.

Hi David, I'm pretty sure it's not related to AOS plugin, because after some time user loosing internet connection.
Disabling web-shield solved the problem.
However, we'll try to disable AOS.

OK, the only reason I mentioned AOS is that there have been some instances where it and youtube have conflicted.

As you say the fact that it is intermittent make it more difficult to track down.

As expected, disabling AOS plugin didn't solve the problem. One of the users with such problem just reinstalled windows and avast is working fine now. It seems like avastclear missed something...

Another user, but the same problem, it seems like avast team is not interested in solving this bug.  :-[
Btw, another support package: http://rghost.ru/53827266 (just press "скачать" button to download package).
