Just take a look if there are issues.

You have disabled Malwarebytes from Autostart with this. You enable it there at all time.

Didn't notice any issues with services disabled  but I enabled everything again until essexboy gets back.

If using the new MBAM 2.0 Premium version there is a setting to delay the protection start and for how long. Of course WinPatrol Plus also has a feature to delay program start up.

I would agree with David this may be related to MBAM services

Thanks everyone for your help. How long would you suggest I delay the MBAM protection at startup?

Also, do you think it could be the update to MBAM 2.0 that has been preventing my system from being able to upgrade to Windows 8.1? MBAM is the first thing I installed everytime I clean installed Windows 8 before trying to upgrade to 8.1 and the upgrade had worked in the past before MBAM 2.0

Well the greyed out figure in my image shows 15 seconds, you could try it at that and see if it makes much difference and increase if required.

Not sure if it would impact on an upgrade to win8.1. Whilst I don't have win8 on either of my systems, the upgrade to 8.1 is meant to be very large and there no doubt would be lots of executable files that would be being scanned, that could slow the upgrade and install.
