On some sites, blocking certain companies from using ad tracking seems to disable java on that page (e.g. blocking Future on pcgamer). You can disable the blocking for just that company if you want, but (assuming it works), the beta version of adblock plus blocks it without resulting in java being disabled.
Also, is there any way to have it block ad tracking but not ads? There are some sites I want to get ad revenue, but still don't want to allow the ad tracking companies access.
