Avast causes a BSOD 0x0000007b
« on: April 14, 2014, 03:41:27 PM »
Hello,

I had to "repair" the pc of a friend wich reboot always after a blue screen when the system will start.
I can't enter the system in protect mode.
I read a lot of other topics and I scan the system with the FRST Tool.
It's a WIndows 7 Ultimate 64bit Version.

Any help?

Regards
Holger

If you get a BSOD, please send me (kurtin@avast.com) the latest minidump file from \Windows\Minidump folder. Thanks.

:-X sorry man i cant send you the minidump file because i think i can fix my pc by myself so, i search about this error on google and find an article about fixing this error
here you can see http://www.deskdecode.com/how-to-fix-blue-screen-stop-error-7b-stop0x0000007b/
they told me to do that-

Quote
Command 1# – Diskpart

Command 2# – List volume

Command 3# – Exit

These above listed commands will help you out to find your windows drive letter like which one what we need and we are going to repair. We do this on windows installation disc or Hiren’s boot cd because your windows drive letter isn’t “c:” anymore, but sometimes it does so, that’s why need to clarify our windows drive letter first to begin this repair thing. Here’s my windows drive letter as you can see in the given image above this paragraph.

Command 4# – D:  (You’re Windows Drive Letter)

Command 5# – Bootrec /fixmbr

Command 6# – Bootrec /fixboot

Command 7# – Bootrec /rebuildbcd  {Skip this command only for the first time and use it if the above ones wont works after testing but definitely use the chkdsk cammand with your first and last try as you can see listed below.}

Command 8# – Chkdsk  /f    (Try chkdsk /f /r If “Chkdsk /f” command Wont Works)

Command 8# –  Y

now i wont able to open my computer either, i'm doomed
mabe i broke my computer  :'(

oh man... what have you done?  ::)
0x7B error is generic error and you can't say why your system crashed until someone analyze the minidump file.

those commands can really corrupt your OS loader -- and they don't fix anything in this case
