I've received a "critical update" to download Flash 13.0, which seems to have installed OK, but it's still showing as needing to be updated, even though I've refreshed, re-booted, etc.  Can anyone advise please?  For info., I'm still working in XP if that makes a difference.

I would try the following:

1. In the main avast! GUI go to "Settings", then "Tools".
2. Click the "Customize" button for the Software Updater.
3. Go to the "Database reset (troubleshooting)" menu and then click "Reset Database Now".

Hopefully that will clear up your problem.  Good luck . . .

There are likely 2 Adobe Flash installs, each of which would need an update.  One is Flash ActiveX for Internet Explorer, and the other is Flash plugin for Firefox, etc.  One likely updated while the other didn't.

See http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html.
