Boot time scan and nobootgui selected
« on: April 15, 2014, 04:28:01 AM »
Hi, long time owner of Avast but first time poster on forums. My question is there a way to have the boot time scan gui show when you have the nobootgui option selected for windows. I just started using this option when I got my ssd and noticed it causes a black screen for Avast on boot time scan not allowing me to track the scan.

What operating system do you use?
Generally the answer is no, the boot-time scanner is incompatible with the noguiboot option - but as a workaround, avast! should disable that option temporarily (when you schedule the boot-time scan) and then revert it back once the scan is done.

I use Windows 7 64bit and when using the boot scan it stays at the normal black screen with the green lines at the top left like it does for the Windows boot with nobootgui selected

Is it better now (with the latest virus definitions released a while ago)?
