I'm the owner of a rooted HTC One S. I was happy with my cyanogemod until it began to crash sometimes, so i decided to upgrade.
Avast anti theft was installed and configured sothat it would be impossible to install a new image without inserting a pin code.
I installed the new version, then when the system started avast anti theft gave an alert "Stolen phone!".
I had to insert the pin code, but due to a bug the keyboard didn't appear!
So i restored the backup i did before upgrading.
2 days after, my mobile has been nationnaly locked on every network, because it is considered as stolen! (imei lock)
My network operator says it is locked, i have to refer to the police to prove it is not stolen.
I went to the police, they say the phone is not considered as stolen on their side, so they can't do anything.
Consequence, i can't use my phone anymore !
My question is, does avast anti theft warns network operator about stolen phones ?
