Win32:PopCapLoad [Trj]
« on: July 10, 2005, 06:09:41 PM »
I just ran into a problem today. Seems that Avast has now deemed it impossible to play the online web versions of games at www.popcap.com   >:(
When I try to click on the Play Now button, the Avast pop up won't allow me to continue. My options are Abort Connection etc.  Avast should have an IGNORE button available for times like this. I am not bothered by whatever adware popcap games has hidden on their game site, I've been playing there for quite some time, and it saves me money from buying their games on CD's.
Is there anyway I can bypass the annoying pop up from Avast and continue to play the online games?
Thank You
Susan

Hello !

Well if you want to play the games anyway you can put the site URL in the web shield ignore list which is in the web shield settings window and the web shield won't check this site anymore.

Well I added the following URL to the web shield:
http://www.popcap.com/games/

This didn't solve the problem. So then I added this URL http://www.popcap.com/games/popcaploader_v6.cab\PopCapLoader.dll

figuring  that it would definitely take care of it and it didn't. I still get the warnings with no alternative but to just give up.
Thank you though for your feedback.
