Newby question on Virus Chest
« on: April 30, 2014, 05:21:51 PM »
Hi.  I ran a full system scan.  Avast identified one infection. When I look at the scan report, I can see the infection item in the report.  The report entry says that Avast automatically moved the infection item to the Virus Chest.  If I right-click on the infection item in the report, there is an option to delete the infection item, but delete is grayed out and is not selectable.

At the bottom of the report screen, there is an icon labelled Chest.  This icon also is grayed out and is not selectable.  Can anyone advise how I can delete the infection item?

FYI that I am running Avast version 8.0.  My OS is Mac OS X version 10.9.2.

Thank you

Open Avast and Right click on one of the tiles on the main interface
Select Virus Chest
You now have a quick shortcut and can delete from the chest

Thank you exxexboy.  When I click on Select Virus Chest as you indicate, nothing appears in the chest.  I am starting to think that the scan report falsely reported having moved the infection item to the chest. Maybe no such item really exists ...
