No incoming email after installing Avast on Mac

Hi - I am a new user to Avast on Mac, after Avast got excellent reviews on some test. I now found Avast to stop Apple Mail from receiving emails on some of my accounts, while Gmail and Exchange accounts work.

I am using Avast for Mac ver. 8.0.40795 on a MacBook Pro late 2013 with Mavericks (all latest patches installed). The email accounts are all set up using SSL and the config has been verified with the provider. Also, I received email fine for months on all those accounts before installing Avast.

When switching off Email shield, the emails come in again, but that kind of defeats the point of having Avast installed.

Any idea?

nope, does not work (thx, though).

When I switch off IP6 and switch email option on, again those email accounts stop receiving email.

Any other ideas or suggestions? Any attempt appreciated. Thx.

NP. As it didn't help, you've to wait for one of the Mac guys.
