Following development of Verve (graphics app) but Avast pegs as virus.

Trying to follow the development of Verve found here http://www.taron.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4
but Avast keeps telling me the program is a virus.  I'm pretty sure its not.  The problem may be that the developer is updating quite frequently - is that what could be causing Avast to see it as a threat?

How do I get Avast to ignore this particular program?  This is very frustrating as now I cannot even download the latest version without Avast blocking the connection.

send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject:  False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password:  infected
