"Bad Reputation" Results
« on: May 16, 2014, 01:56:23 PM »
To Whom It May Concern:

We recently found information (attached) that your product claims that our site www.kaspersky.ru, has a bad reputation when using the Yandex search engine.

While we understand that the Avast software may be stating this due to its listing as an "advertisement", we believe that this is unacceptable and, as a minimum, harms our reputation. We demand that the situation be rectified as soon as possible.

Please notify me at Todd.J.Hopkins@kaspersky.com and provide details of the correction in writing within 24 hours.

Best regards,

Todd Hopkins

Hi Todd.J.Hopkins@kaspersky

I cannot reproduce it, see attached. I went to the Yandex search site and the avast web rep tool in firefox active to search for kaspersky.ru and my web rep search query results are coming up all green.
Browser is firefox and Yandex search request  results are from near Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
As the web rep is user driven, could this be an automated third party driven attack,
as I do not understand these search results.
Again I say I cannot reproduce these here. Wait for an official response from avast! to be more conclusive,

best greetings,

polonus
Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Strange.  The problem was found using Google Chrome along with Avast Premier here in Moscow.

If anyone else has something, I'd be happy to hear it.
