Hi,

I was using Avast Free AV but after the trial period I uninstalled it.

Since that time, I cannot connect to the Internet any more. When I open any browser, it says "You are not connected to a Network". In the Task bar, there is a yellow triangle with and exclamation mark.

My modem is connected to a Netgear router. From there, a Network cable directly goes to that PC that doesnt work any more. The WLAN connection to all the other devices (netbooks of my family and mobile phones) from this router works perfectly well. The only problem is with the PC that is connected to the router, and I tried different cables but it never works, so a defect cable cant be the reason. And when I right click on the relevant button, it also says that the function of the Network Interface Card is ok.

So my only idea is that maybe some of the Settings (which ones?) may have been changed. Hopefully, someone can help me.

Thanks, Michael

P.S.: my operating sytem is Windows 7.
