Is this forum being monitored by AVAST? Are they aware of what is going on with this so called 3rd party support? Do they condone it? I'd love to get a statement from AVAST on this issue.

I just fell for their hardsell, do their best to panic you routine. I had three supposed licensed Microsoft techs on my computer yesterday. I'm being billed almost $300 for two computers although they will never touch one and will never touch the other again. this is a scam!!! DON"T FALL FOR IT!! I've tried to get a refund directly from them and they are saying once the techs spend time on your machine there are no refunds.
I can't believe some of the things they did to my computer. The master saleswoman "Guaranteed" me they would fix my computer. Out of nowhere she found Conduit on my computer. I think it was a screen she has on hand to show on your computer. then she told me only licensed Microsoft technicians can remove Conduit. And if I have Wi-Fi any other computers will probably have it too.
I feel like an idiot, but really am pissed at myself and Avast for this. Again don't let them fool you. this is a scam run by a third party. All they want to do now is send another person to take over my computer and play....I've lost all respect for Avast. I used to think them to be an honorable company.

Who's Adam Riley and what role does he play w.r.t. AVAST? Is he part of this 3rd party group OR does he work directly for AVAST?

For your information:
Unless the the title of the person answering you, states that they are an Avast Employee,
they are avast! users just like you and I.

I do not understand computers but knew I needed virus protection.  I accidentally loaded two copies and of course they charged me.  I went online as directed and have never received a response.  I called tech support this morning and the tech told me to wait another week for a response.  Like everyone else I got someone from India.  I doubt I will ever get a refund!  When my subscription is up I am going back to Norton!  At least they will talk to you and I never had a problem with them and they were very patient with me and helped and solved my problem.

Did you file a support ticket? If you did it can take ten days to two weeks to get a response.
Have some patience and whatever you do "do not file another ticket". If you do you will
end up at the bottom of the queue again.

Also never use the third party support company due to the fact they are known to do hard sells.
The best place is here on the forums. Please keep in mind we are volunteer users just like you.
