avast won't accept reset password
« on: June 14, 2014, 07:18:09 PM »
I upgraded to Premium. Upon trying to go to the settings I am asked for my password. The password I used to set Avast up to begin with did not work, so I reset it. Now it won't accept my reset password. I was told by salesperson (tech support) that I could try to uninstall it. I tried that and it ask me for password, again will not accept new password. I don't want to be forced to buy tech support when this is the only problem I've ever had with Avast.

1. Download avast! Premier Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions..!!)
3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.
