May I suggest you install Unchecky to avoid downloading any adware.
I'd also suggest you demote 1 of the two Admin accounts to a Standard User. The one admin will be able to grant permission for installation of programs no matter the account.
Suggest changing the password of your remaining admin account to prevent the other standard user running/installing programs as admin if you want to restrict a standard user to standard privileges. It's possible to bypass standard privileges when in a standard account by right-clicking a program and selecting 'Run as administrator'. You as the admin should create a standard account for yourself and operate 90-95% of the time as a standard user, with access to admin rights when needed, but the other standard user cannot as that standard user would not know the admin password. If the other standard user knows the admin password, then they can operate as admin whenever they want, same as you, using the workaround posted above. Not something one wants.
Run as admin only for such things as Windows Updates and installing new programs for yourself after you verify new programs are clean and safe to use.
So, you want at least three accounts:
- An admin account
- A standard user account for you
- A standard user account for the other user with no access to the admin password. This will remove the possibility of installing/running new programs without your explicit consent. Which is why the main admin password must be changed if the other user knows the original admin password.
I also suggest setting up another spare password-protected admin account you do not use, for yourself only, which you reserve for emergency cases where the original admin account becomes corrupted. This will allow you to recover and create new accounts, standard or admin, if any of the original three become corrupted and unusable. This is Microsoft recommended to recover from corrupted user accounts. When done, there will be four accounts, one held as a reserve emergency admin account for emergency recovery, for use only when the original admin account becomes corrupted. Move all user data to the new account and when satisfied all is in order, and only then delete the corrupted account.
