attack against Avast
« on: June 17, 2014, 01:55:41 PM »
I received a Mail from Avast . The first words are :
<<A few days ago we informed you that the AVAST forum was attacked and because of that, we took the forum offline to improve its structure and security. It is now back up and more secure.  ...>>

Please , could we learn some more about this attack ?  Without being too much technical :
Who made it ? , What means ?  What for ?

Once, four years ago, I was attacked by a very efficient virus . It was just after I had sent a letter to the China embassy .
The last image on my screen was a full screen Avast pannel, requesting my permission  to copy the virus who was destroying me .
Then my PC stoped completly , and I had to get another new opérating system.
I never knew anything about this " atomic virus" .
How can I get informations on such a viral artillery  ?

That is one side of the story.
Most of these types of disputes have 3 side.
My side, Your side and, somewhere in the middle you'll find the real story. :)
None of us will probably ever know the whole story. I'm satisfies that my password is nor protected and,
since the forum now uses https, most of the data on this forum is encrypted.
Water under the bridge. Time to move one. :)
