Freeware system intrusion protectors :

Abtrusion protector :

http://www.abtrusion.com  (running on my box for 1 year now > favorite)

System safety monitor :

http://maxcomputing.narod.ru/ssme.html (slow webpage load)

There both amazing good tools to prevent .dll injection from the most recent trojans.

They also protect against unknown other malware, not recognised by your AV or AT.

These programs are SWEET if you don't download frequently new software or change your system configuration. If you like to change your "stuff" very often they could turn out to be a pain in the ass, as they need manipulation with almost every thing you want to change on your setup (new software, uninstalling etc...)

Sort-of replacement for the JV-16 ...  my apologies if I already posted this here or elsewhere.

Take a look at Easy-Cleaner, from toniarts.  It's freeware too, and while it has the same lack of useful feedback as similar products, unlike the JV-16, it does have a wide range of tools in addition to the reg-cleaner.
Intel Atom D2700, 2 gig RAM, Win 7 x64 SP1 & IE-11, Firefox 51.0
(default). 320 gig HD, 15Mb DSL, Win firewall, Avast 12.3.2280 free, SpywareBlaster, MBAM Prem., Crypto-Prevent

Very thanks Mike, I'm downloading it right now and will take a try. Seems to be good and freeware  ;D

More than necessary: the old versions of jv16 are 'expiring'!!! This is the end of it!!! The user can read the license file and will not found anything about this! SHAME!  >:(

Hhmm... seem to be a good piece of software... Why do you hate it, it detects more 'un-necessary' keys than BeClean, but it is not as simple as BeClean. Did you have any particular trouble with this new software EasyCleaner?

Technical, it wasn't any one thing in particular...and I had the worst time getting rid of the toolbar...but I understand that problem has been fixed. It just didn't work very well...at the time I installed it, the site had a brief statement that they were working on some minor bugs and would have them fixed quickly...

I just decided it was better for me to look elsewhere...

Use the option: Hide to the tray on close

The updated version is 2.0.5.338 (5th release of EasyCleaner). Thanks for the tip Mike!  ;) It will take some time to update this list of links... It takes a lot of time. Techie adviced me in the past some links were broken but I do not remember which ones...  :'(
