lost phone, sms doesn't appear to work

I lost my phone, google location services and wifi are turned off. it is still ringing. i have tried sending messages through the avast portal to set the siren and mark as lost.. i understand now that didn't work. and so have sent a text from my trusted friends phone, but that hasn't seem to have worked either, according to the avast website.

my only other idea is that ive messed up and forgotten my PIN... any help please?

May be the phone is out of internet connection; in case your message (with remote command) has been received, you should get confirmation - without confirmation there is strong chance that your remote command was not accepted. Report to the my avast is done only via network connection. Did you have Send SMS to Avast option turned on?
