Avast over 2 sites
« on: June 24, 2014, 10:43:39 AM »
Hi,

I have one server on SITE1 with AEA  and deploy a mirror on server in SITE2 over our vpn connection
This 2 avast installations seems to communicate between themselves.

When I try to deploy an Avast! Endpoint client installation to SITE2, the installation seems to come from SITE1 and not SITE2.
But our vpn connection is really slow

So I tried to install directly the Avast! Endpoint client on SITE2 's PC but, the AEA on SITE1 don't recognize PC configuration from SITE2's clients (VPS version, unknow...)

Where can i find the good method to do this type of installation.

Thanks

The mirror server is simply an update server for the avast! clients. It is not used for deployments, just for updates.

What you could do is to:
1. Generate an installation package and install the software manually.
2. Install an instance of AES on SITE2 temporary, create an installation package which points to the first AEA in SITE1 and deploy the software from it. And finally remove it.
3. Use AEA in Multi-AES mode. However this option requires a FULL SQL Server installed on the root server.
