CrashPlan access
« on: June 25, 2014, 02:53:07 PM »
I have recently tried to install CrashPlan's server access software in order to allow me to create an account for cloud backup storage. Unfortunately, I am unable to get past the point where the programme tries to connect with CrashPlan's servers and throws up an error telling me that it can't connect. I have tried switching all 'shields' off in Avast, but this doesn't make any difference. Has anyone else had similar issues with the CrashPlan software and could there be anything running in Avast's background that might be stopping this connection taking place?
I only ask this, as I had tried/ trialed LiveDrive (which is a similar cloud storage provider), and the only way that I could get LiveDrive to connect to their servers was to disable Avast completely. So, Avast is definitely affecting connections either to or from third party apps.
I am using a Mac with OS 10 Mavericks and I have Avast for Mac v9.0 (Beta 1) installed.
