From device manager right click the entry and select uninstall

Then reboot with the USB plugged in and see if windows detects it.  If not re-install the drivers

I did that and it didn't work, so I uninstalled avast then I uninstalled the drivers from logitech, did a reboot and then the keyboard worked without any drivers, so I installed the logitech drivers again it was still working so after that I installed avast again. Now my computer boots and the keyboard works, that is if the second hard drive is unplugged, if I plug it in it wont boot. So my guess now is that the MBR on that drive is shot, now I just need to figure out how to reset it, it didnt work with a windows boot cd so I think I need to explore other options.
I'm still confused why this happened..?

I have never been able to determine the reason for this,  Maybe a chkdsk on the offending drive
