I updated to the latest version of Avast this am, hoping this wouldn't show up but..............

exactely, maybe i need glasses? ..... or is it a guessing competition

The problem is this as shown in the screenshot, wants me to log in when I'm already logged in.

in top right corner of your pic it say LOGOUT on the button

I know that but even when I do logout and log back in it still shows what is shown in the screenshot.

if you mean the "Dear avast forum visitor......" just below, evryone have that

look at the orange bar just above  "Dear avast forum visitor"
on left side of it it say NEWS on right side of it is a [-]  click that if you dont want to see the news

Thanks Pondus.  I'll do that. I  had never looked at the right side.
