Why Avast won't let us block some https links?

Is it bad to let users to block some https websites?

And not all https look safe. There are some vulgar/offensive/18+ ads that use https to advertise too.

Essentially it is the Web Shield that also handles the blocking of URL in the Site Blocking section. The problem being that the web shield doesn't monitor the https traffic as it is secure encrypted traffic.

Currently the web shield only monitors http traffic, so it isn't possible to block https URLs.

You can use the HOSTS file or Firewall to block access to those sites.
