Disabling MailServer
« on: October 22, 2003, 02:22:27 AM »
I have set, in the tasks, not to use Intermail proxy, however the mail server still loads, is resident in memory, and listening on ports.

Can it be stopped from loading?

Cheers

You can use the Mail Protection Wizard (menu Start->Programs->avast! Antivirus) and choose to remove protection. Then the mail scanner will not be launched after restart of windows.

Yes ok that worked but.........

First of all, when I stoped the mail provider via the sys tray, I was asked if this would be persistant, so I chose not to start after boot, this didn't work.

I had to run the popwiz with the admin account, and rebooted, then run again for user account.

Something that is not you prob is that I couldn't run the popwiz while TPF 5.1.1238 was running as the popwiz would exit, but lockup the OS...FYI
