Windows shows firewall and antivirus off, avast shows all active protection on?

Windows 7 home premium and professional
(windows shows firewall and antivirus turned off, avast shows all active protection is on)
I have avast internet security on 9 computers and all of them are getting warnings from windows action center saying that the firewall and antivirus is turned off. This happens every time after the avast program updates and sometimes after windows 7 updates. I have to tell windows that I trust the program and want to allow it to run then restart the computer before the warning goes away.
Have used the security suite for years and this started after the avast program updated a couple of times ago.
Trouble shooting steps I have taken:
- have reinstalled operating system
- reinstalled Avast internet security suite
- called avast phone support and was told for $179 they would fix it
- removed all pre installed antivirus including folders
- turned off windows defender
- turned off windows firewall
I think it would be unusual for all the computers to have issues at the same time so I would lean towards the problem being with the avast internet security suite.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The easy solution to this is right click the Avast tray icon
Select shield control
Select disable for 10 minutes
Count to 30 and re-enable the shields

I did an avast repair through add remove programs and then it showed that avast firewall was off when I opened the avast program. So what is turning off the firewall?

windows was showing firewall off. Avast only showed off after I did repair to avast installation.

Yes then it said it was on after the reboot.

This issue is that it keeps happening on multiple computers as I wrote to start with.

It is a bug in the windows security/action center that has been there since Windows XP.
Resetting the security center will make it work correct again.

Please use the search option before posting.
Things like this haven been addressed many times before.
