There is a conflict with ZAPro privacy options and webshield.  If you have the free version of ZA then ignore the warning if you have the Pro then disable the  privacy protection and ignore the warning

A lot is already been explained about Avast and ZoneAlarm.
If you use the search option on this board and you will find many threads dealing with this.

It also helps if you provide details, like:
What is the exact problem?
What is your OS?
What EXACT version of Avast? (and in this case also ZA version)
What are the settings?
What have you tried sofar to solve it?
etc etc

We can and will try to give help, but we are not mindreaders ;)

He just received a message within avast! installation process that it's not 100% compatible with ZA Pro. Not avast!'s problem though... ZoneLabs needs to work on that, not Alwil. We all know that Alwil guys already informed ZoneLabs about this issue, and they still don't do anything to fix that. New ZA is out, and still the problem remains... also, avast! is still not recognized by ZA... obviously, purposely ::)

My system is:
Windows 200 professional.
When active the ZoneAlarm, avast says that it has that to be disactivated one of the protections because the ZoneAlarm is in conflict with webshield.

You may use the search button to salvage many topics regarding about this conflict.  Plus these people already told you that if you're using Zone Alarm Free Edition, you're okay and you can just ignore the warning but if you're using Zone Alarm Pro.  disable the privacy and cookie controls.   :)

Sorry if i seem rude but this problem with zonealarm was the reason to update to sp2 and use the windows firewall because it gives me no conflicts, and works a 100%. in fact my desktop has right across it AVAST antivirus working with microsoft antispy ware to help protect your computer.

Sorry thedon57

The windows firewall doesn't give you 100% as it is not a full firewall, it doesn't provide outbound protection, so anything that manages to get on your computer has unhindered/unchecked access to the internet to phone home (with your details, etc.) and perhaps to download more of the same.
