minacross,

Please remember that this is an AVAST FORUM!
We don't go out of our way to promote purchasing other software here.

This forum is for HELP, not SALES.

Ok.  ;D  No hard feelings.

techie101, Isn't it the forum moderator's job  to moderate this forum? ;D

And this forum as stated here

General Topics
anything and everything about this board.
Moderators: Vlk, igor

So why is it off topic? ;D

Its' every forum users responsiblity to see that the forum is not abused.

Secondly, General Topics means those "anything and everything" related to the forum.
If the Moderators wish to allow it so be it, but I am entitled to my opinion which is usually sound.

I've been with this forum long enough to know what should and should not be permitted.

If you wish, I can click the Report to Moderator and leave it up to them.

Please let us not discusss this futher ......its' really way off topic.  Yes?

techie :)

I was only saying my opinion also, all beit a bit of tounge in cheek  ;)

This forum, in the forum lists, is in it's own category (general), and is set apart from the Avast Support category.

As you state "General Topics means those "anything and everything" related to the forum.", as the forum, is this case is general, doesn't the release of a security product fall into the same area as general.

I, like youself, believe that my opinions are sound.

I do not wish you to report the message to the moderator, however that is entirely your decision.

I think the problem here is the ambiguity of the forum heading.(IMHO)

I personally though this forum, being general, was an extra courtesy, as all proprietary forums are, for general chat, but I may be mistakin, and yes, I may need an edumacation on how these forums works!

Cheers

I posted this thread just to inform KPF that a new release is comming up, I did not mean to promote any product..you know, I am not a Kerio employee   ;);) ;D ;D
but if you will consider price info not proper for this forum, I am going to delete it..
no problem at all techie ;D;D

Hi All,

Its' every forum users responsiblity to see that the forum is not abused.
Very true!

Secondly, General Topics means those "anything and everything" related to the forum.
If the Moderators wish to allow it so be it, but I am entitled to my opinion which is usually sound.
I have nothing against announcing some interesting security software here unless it exceeds some reasonable limit and it is not marketing stuff.

On the other hand I will not tolerate the announcements of any commercial software by their authors as it happened here once in the past.

Hope this clear things up a little bit  :)

I personally don't mind having "off topics" in this forum (general) if they are atleast security related. (like this thread about Kerio).

What i would dislike is promoting other antivirus software (offcourse).

Kerio is a good product, and everyone should use a firewall running resident next to avast or another AV ! it doesn't really mather wich one.

So announcing there is a new important version release is intresting for me.

Kind regards,

Waldo

minacross,
Thank you for your understanding.  I imagine that if the ad appeared originally without all the pricing, it would not have caused the stir.  Your were very considerate in editing the ad.

DP, Waldo
Ok, now that this has been clarified by Pavel....lets' kiss and make up!  ;D

anybody has positive experience with Kerio 4 ?

I just heard it's not so hot compared to Kerio 2.1.5

and if you got a good AV (like avast  ;D ) and configure your system properly, you don't need a PFW...
'cause the only good PFW is:
