it is really long time Windows Does't Detect Avast
« on: July 23, 2014, 06:52:57 PM »
In windows 8.1 for a long time I am seeing a security related message regarding avast is turned off. But avast shields are turned on. Why avast technical team not fixing this issue. I am using avast IS 2014.9.0.2021 and still the issue is not fixed. It is not only my problem some other users are saying the same. Please somebody reply and tell how to fix it.
Thank you
Here is a video running avast with Windows defender at the same time

Google     windows 8.1 security senter say my antivirus is off   and you will see that this is not just related to avast

OK.  :-X That may be windows problem, but I also tried bitdefender Internet security for about 20 days but I did't seen any such issues and I return back to Avast Internet Security. And the issue is not always happening.

If the issue is due to Windows Action Center it should be applicable to all the antivirus software. Already I said that I have tried other security software.  :-[

From Bitdefender website
http://www.bitdefender.com/support/what-to-do-when-windows-security-center-reports-antivirus-antispyware-and-or-firewall-are-turned-off-1091.html
But I think it is not a forum thread and they are giving the users as a precautions. I mean that is not a problem listed by a user of the software, and it is said by the software publisher itself. And I already seen many posts regarding this issue in this forum .( I have only account in avast forum since I have been using avast for years  :D)
And in all the posts an exact fix is not mentioned by avast support team ( I didn't seen anything until now )

May be it is Windows Problems  :-[ http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/search/search?SearchTerm=windows+8.1+action+center+says+virus+protection+off&x=10&y=13&CurrentScope.ForumName=&CurrentScope.Filter=&ContentTypeScope=

And there is no problem with the message from action center regarding protection, but it just annoys.  :'( . And Where is avast support team. Just come and say it is problem with Windows 8.1 and not with avast  :o

This problem with the Windows Security Center - WSC and later Windows Action Center - WAC (failing to recognise AV installations) has been going on for many, many years in XP, Vista, Win7 and now Win8 and has been answered many times.

So to have to continually come back to say the same thing (as has been said here) is somewhat over the top.

The solution has also been mentioned at length in many topics, by disabling avast and enable it again, seems to jump start the WAC. Right click the avast tray icon, avast! Shield Control - Disable for 10 minutes - don't wait 10  minutes a few seconds should be enough and then enable them again.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
