This boot issue started when I tried to restart my computer after installing updates (Windows, iTunes, and [possibly?] avast). I hadn't restarted my computer in a while, so I'm not sure what updates were applied.
I have the chkdsk c: /r running through the System Recovery Options command console. It seems like it is hung at 34% of the "Windows is verifying free space..." check. What is weird is that the command caused windows to search my backup hard drive. The file system is FAT32 instead of NTFS and is labeled as FANTOM.
Should I stop the current check and try another drive letter, let the check continue, or should I shut down and unplug my spare HD?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
