Help! (Problems with updating during to time/date setup)
« on: August 03, 2005, 04:40:11 AM »
Hi!

I'm new on this forum. I have installed avast (home version) and I've been very happy with the program. Unfortunately, I've been unable to update it since Monday :'(. Here's what happened...On Monday my PC crashed because it was over 40 degrees Celsius. When I restarted it, the time and date were wrong. I corrected that. Few hours later Avast tried to auto-update itself, but was unable.
Here is the message which I get each time I try to get virus definitions: "The license product is temporarily disabled. Your system time/date has changed; fix it and enter the license key again." I don't know what to do next. Everything else about my PC seems to be working fine.

I hope that you'll help me soon. I don't wish to stop using avast.

Aristocat, no need to stop using avast  8)
You can:
1. Try to boot and add the same key again.
2. Register avast! again and use a new key.
3. Uninstall and install it again using the 1 or the 2 key.

Buy a fan  8) ;)

I had 2 fans when my PC crashed! This summer is the hottest ever. I was so worried about this updating thingy that I even bought an air-conditioner. Man, thanks again. It's all COOL now ;)  ;D
